A musical prodigy as a child, Dave began playing the cello and piano at the age of three. He performed on Broadway and with the Metropolitan Opera at the age of 7, and debuted at Carnegie Hall at age 15.  He is a graduate of Harvard University and Julliard School's Doctoral program.

Dave Eggar has performed world-wide as a solo cellist and pianist.  A virtuoso of many styles, Dave has performed and recorded with artists in numerous genres, including Evanescence, The Who, Michael Breder, Josh Groben, Coldplay, Beyonce, Perl Jam, Fall Out Boy, Dave Sanborn, Kathleen Battle, Ray Lamontagne, Roberta Flack, The Spin Doctors, Dianne Reeves, Brandy, Carly Simon, Phil Ramone, Hannah Montana, Duncan Sheik, Sinead O'Connor, Bon Jovi, Manhattan Transfer, Corinne Bailey Ray and many more.

His list of awards and accomplishments include accolades from Time Magazine, ASCAP, the National Endowment for the Arts, Sony Records Elevated Standards Award in Classical Music, the Geraldine Dodge and Leonard Bernstein Foundations, and at age 15, was the youngest winner of the Artists International Competition in history.

Who wouldn’t want to spend a week sharing musical Ideas with Dr. John Daversa, Chair of Studio Music and Jazz at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami; who has performed on “The Today Show,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show;” who has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, and the Montreux Festival;  and who has recorded with Herbie Hancock, Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, and others?  Who wouldn’t want work on improvisation and play in a jazz band with him?  It’s another great musical opportunity that Five Seasons is bringing to Cedar Rapids.
